Hey everybody! Tiff here. Today was Boom in the Trunk and it was amazing. Thanks to you all for coming out! Hey guys, Rachel here!

We're SO excited for the event tonight.  I cannot wait to see all of you fabulous folks and mingle!!

Tiffany and I have been extremely fortunate in working with some FANTASTIC brands for Boom in the Trunk.  Simply Be, Gisela Ramirez, We Love Colors, naKIMuli... the list goes on.  Not only are these personal favorites in our own lives and closets, they are also the home to a lot of really sweet people who have been a pleasure to work with.

Unfortunately, we found out early this morning that one brand we have both been loyal to in the past is no longer going to be participating in the event.  

Lush on Armitage here in Chicago, IL promised, on October 4th, coupons for free facials and hand treatments. Unfortunately, what they provided us yesterday, after weeks of waiting, were some hastily produced fliers--   with no mention of free treatments-- that they asked us to print ourselves.  

That is not the response we expected from the Lush brand, it's not the kind of relationship we expected from a store that I have history partnering with, and it is not the kind of product we are proud to pass along to our attendees.  Because these fliers are not something that we can be proud of, and because this individual store waited so long in delivering this subpar product that we do not have time to negotiate a replacement...

Tiffany and I are sad to announce that Lush will be withdrawing their sponsorship of Boom in the Trunk.

We did not seek sponsors for this event to bombard you all with advertisements.  We have sponsors to introduce and foster deeper relationships with brands we believe in, brands who demonstrate that they support and serve our community, and to provide you a more exciting experience at Boom in the Trunk.  We thought that Lush's Armitage store was one of those companies and we are really bummed out to say that we were wrong.

While it's worth noting that this is just one store's unwillingness to be supportive, and not the Lush brand globally; if you're as bummed out as we are, you can let them know.  Contact me at madamradams@gmail.com if you would like the store's contact information.

Cup Cakes by Dinner was Delicious!

"Will there be food?" "Why of course. We wouldn't dream of leaving you in a room for two and a half hours hungry." One of our organizers, Rachel, has a food blog with her friend Lucy called Dinner was Delicious, so she has agreed to supply 200 of her beautiful cupcakes and 100 cake pops to Boom in the Trunk.  Don't their cupcakes look amazing. The're almost too fancy to eat. Almost.

Re/Dress NYC

Boom in the Trunk is two weeks away and we are all very excited. In the two weeks leading up to the event we will be posting more information about our sponsors and their contributions to Boom in the Trunk.  We posted about Lush a few days ago here, but today we'll be talking about Re/Dress NYC. 

The owner of Re/Dress and the shop girls that work there are truly some of  the best people in world. Unfortunately Re/Dress will be closing it's doors at the end of November. The best place for great, affordable, plus size vintage will be gone, but Re/Dress will be keeping it's online shop up and running.  There you can check out some awesome items including their famous teggings.
